Creator FAQ.
The deep version.
Eight topics, plain answers. The same questions creators ask before they apply — written out fully so the answer is not behind a sales call.
If your question is not on the list, the email below goes to a real human, not an auto-responder.
01
How Vantly fees compare to other platforms.
The creator economy is full of 20% flat fees with surprise line items underneath. Vantly is tiered, processor-aware, and built so a creator at higher volume keeps more without crossing a threshold by accident.
02
How and when payouts happen.
Reliable payouts are the single thing independent creators tell us matters most when they move platforms. The schedule, the rails, the minimums, and the tax forms should all be predictable before you ever earn the first dollar.
03
Recordkeeping requirements for creators.
The dominant framework here is 18 U.S.C. 2257, which treats creators as custodians of records about the people depicted in their work. Vantly stores what the platform needs; you store what only you hold; both halves are auditable on request.
04
What we host — and what ownership means here.
Vantly is built for one category of creator work, done by one category of verified person. The guidelines are written to draw that line clearly enough that you can decide on day one whether you belong here.
05
Takedown and DMCA.
A clear copyright takedown and counter-notice process matters for creators, fans, and the rights-holders whose work is at stake. Vantly runs a designated-agent takedown process with a documented response window and a counter-notice path for the rare cases where the notice was sent in error.
06
What we will not host.
Off-limits content is drawn from the platform’s communicated policy — a mix of legal minimums (which we have no choice about) and deliberate platform choices (where we are choosing what kind of community we are building).
07
Refunds — when a fan gets one back, and what happens to your ledger.
Refund policy is part of what makes a platform trustworthy for fans, and it is also the part that most directly affects your numbers when something goes wrong. The policy below is the one we ship with on day one of general access.
08
How to close an account.
Closing the account is straightforward, but the steps after — retention of compliance and financial records, deletion of content and personal information beyond retention — are governed by law and are not optional.
Takedown / DMCA
Written notices containing the 17 U.S.C. 512(c)(3) elements. Mark the subject line clearly so it is routed to the designated agent.
Law-enforcement requests
Requests submitted through proper legal channels. Preservation requests acknowledged, production handled through counsel.
Press & partnerships
Media, partnership, or industry inquiries. Routed to the right person on the team within one business day.
This page is the canonical editorial answer to the questions creators ask before applying. Specific terms in the policy can change as the platform matures; current program details will be shared with onboarded creators in their dashboard documentation.
